Recipe Ingredients:

  •  Mutton Leg (2.5 – 3 kg)
  • Garlic cloves (3-4)
  • Kachri Powder (6 Tsp) 
  • Salt (4 Tsp) 
  • Coriander Powder (4 Tsp) 
  • Cumin Seeds (4 Tsp) 
  • Tikka Masala (4 Tsp) 
  • Ginger Chopped (4 Tsp) 
  • Green Chilli Chopped (2 Tsp) 
  • Mint (4 Tsp) 
  • Lemon Juice (2 Tsp) 
  • Ajwain (2 Tsp) 
  • Red Chilli Powder (4 Tsp)
  • Chilli Flakes (4 Tsp)
  • Yogurt (200 gm) 
  • Food Color -yellow- (1/2 tsp)

How to Make lamb and mutton raan roast Recipe step by Step:

1To make this special bakra eid recipe take lamb or mutton raan piece of approx 2.5 to 3 kg piece.

2Take lukewarm water in a large pot, add salt in the water, dib raan into the water and clean with a lemon slice, thereafter remove extra fat.

3 Make deep cuts for marination.

4 Place 3 to 4 garlic cloves inside the deep cuts at each side of raan .

5 Add 3 tsp of kachri powder at each side of the raan, marinate it well at each corner of the raan evenly and let it rest for 20 mins.

6Add 2 tsp salt each side, 2 tsp coriander powder each side, 2 tsp cumin seeds each side, 2 tsp tikka masala each side, 2 tsp chopped ginger each side, 1 tsp chopped green chilli each side, 2 tsp mint each side, 1 tsp lemon juice each side, 1 tsp ajwain each side, 2 tsp red chilli powder each side, 2 tsp chilli flakes each side, add yogurt and yellow food color then mix it all very well and keep it marinated for 30 mins.

7 Add vegetable oil on tawa or pan, place raan on the tawa or pan and cook it for 10 mins each side, cover it with a lid also and cook further for 15 mins on low heat at each side.

8 Add boiled rice into the pan where raan was marinated and mix boiled rice with that masala also or toss in raan marinade.

9 Place fried raan inside large pot for steam and steam it for 40 mins.

10 Place steam raan on tawa or pan again, place masala rice over and around the raan roast, garnish it with dry nuts.
